Yellow Brick Games is opening an internship opportunity among our team of experienced developers to work on an exciting new fantasy IP (unannounced project). As an intern, you will practice many aspects of a level designer role by supporting the production of our game. You will be assigned to a specific team for the duration of your internship where you will learn in a practical and pleasant atmosphere.

We’re always on the lookout for talented and passionate developers who would be a good fit for our studio. Yellow Brick Games is based in Quebec City, Canada, with an additional office space in Montreal. This internship will require to work on-site only (Montreal or Quebec office). All qualified applicants will receive consideration for an internship without regard to place of origin, age, status, religious beliefs, personal orientations, or physical condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Improve and debug the many different combat encounters, environmental challenges, and emergent gameplay systems that populate our exciting levels.
  • Integrate different interactive ingredients to create fun and engaging gameplay experiences for our players.
  • Participate in the creation of surprising environmental storytelling moments.
  • Give feedback and propose ideas to improve the player experience in every aspect of the game.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently being enrolled in a technical or university program in game development (more specific to level design)
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Knowledge of Unreal Blueprints

EXTRA:

  • Being a team player who is good at communicating ideas and feedback.
  • Having an eye for composition and set dressing to guide the player and create stories in the environment.
  • Not being afraid to ask questions and raise flags when something is not working.

*This internship is remunerated and does not need to be mandatory in the curriculum of your program. Starting date is flexible, between November 2023 and January 2024.
