Quebec City, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 — Yellow Brick Games, a new independent studio founded by AAA industry veterans Thomas Giroux, Jeff Skalski, Mike Laidlaw and Frédéric St-Laurent B. just announced its next move; they will fully transition to self-publishing. Their first title, a fantasy Action-Adventure game crafted over four years by a team of 68, will be releasing in 2025.
After years of quietly working on the project, the team shared a short teaser of the game across their social media platforms this morning. The game will be fully unveiled on April 2nd with an IGN First takeover scheduled for the entire month of April, providing many more details into this anticipated new title.
Additionally, Yellow Brick Game announces a notable change: we’ll be taking the self-publishing route to bring this game to market in 2025.
The studio remains well-positioned to deliver the cutting-edge and refined independent gaming experience they committed to back in 2020.
" We are thrilled to share this exciting news with our community. Self-publishing is a leap of faith, especially in the current turbulent industry climate, but it’s also an opportunity to take our destiny into our own hands and reach out directly to players and the wider gaming community during this release. ”
- Mike Laidlaw, Chief Creative Officer
“We see this change in a very positive light as we now fully control our studios' ambitions, and the scope of our game remains unchanged. The player experience will always be our primary indicator of success. Showing the world our project and building an authentic bond with our community is the next exciting step in our journey!"
- Thomas Giroux, Co-founder and CEO of Yellow Brick Games
