In February 2020, a new studio made up of veterans of the video game industry was born in Quebec City. Since then, the four co-founders of Yellow Brick Games, Thomas Giroux, Mike Laidlaw, Jeff Skalski and Frédéric St-Laurent B. have surrounded themselves with a solid and experienced team. Almost a year to the day, after the announcement of their partnership with the U.S. based publisher Private Division (Take-two Interactive Software), the studio now has more than fifty employees.
The team, which is currently working on an unannounced first title, brings together video game professionals from all over Quebec, but also from abroad. In addition to the main studio located in Quebec City, the co-founders announced the opening of a satellite office located in Montreal, in the heart of the Plateau-Mont-Royal district. In a hybrid work context, this space, shared with Soliton Interactive Studio, offers employees located in the Montreal area even more flexibility. The inauguration of the office took place earlier this month, during an evening bringing together the teams of both studios.

“At Yellow Brick Games, we rely heavily on flexibility, trust and collaboration. We have employees all over the world and that’s what makes our studio culture so rich. It works great! However, with the growth of recent months, we began to reach a critical mass of employees in the Montreal area, which justified offering them a space where they could have the opportunity to choose to work from home or not, to gather and to experience the Yellow Brick Games culture in another way. Sharing these spaces with Soliton Interactive also brings an interesting dynamic of openness and innovation ”, says Thomas Giroux, Co-founder and President at Yellow Brick Games.
The Yellow Brick Games team plans to continue its growth in the coming months and is confident that this announcement will encourage some video game professionals in the Montreal area to want to learn more about the studio and its team.

The independent studio continues its growth by opening a second office for its employees in Montreal.
